After a mass layoff at my previous employer of 12 years, three others and I subsequently started a small IT consulting firm. I took on the role of CIO which prevented me from getting involved in projects. After several years I was no longer doing work that I enjoyed. I wanted to find relief from the stress of business ownership and return to project work. I ended up selling my stake in the business and took a job with an IT firm.

Although I didn’t have a bad experience selling my ownership stake, I would have welcomed the opportunity to be presented with options from other business owners that may have opened doors that I had never even considered. Having a third-party source such as ITExitStrategy to present me with all the possibilities of leveraging the efforts I had exerted would have been extremely beneficial.
